The Daily Deskhenge, Thursday 10/24/13

Good afternoon, my darlings! Thank you for checking in. I’m sorry I’m late today. Your Oracle had a very late evening yesterday with one Sherlock Holmes and the hound of the Baskervilles, so she is a little on the slow-and-bleary side today. But I thought it would be helpful to take a step back and go for an overview with today’s Deskhenge: what’s the overall situation, what are the negative influences, and what are the positive influences? So let’s see what we have.

The situation, represented by the 4 of Wands, is something to do with the stability and rootedness of a project or situation. Are you looking to make changes or shake things up somehow? It’s not unusual to get bored with stability and security, but it’s important to not add drama where there is none, so be careful of that. Look at the situation for what it is, not for what you want it to be. The negative influences as brought to us by the ever-lovely Queen of Swords dovetail right into that advice very nicely: watch your thoughts and be careful of where they’re originating. Are you having emotional reactions to your situation? With some situations it would be really hard not to have emotional reactions, but it’s important to not overreact. It’s also important to not overthink things. So pay attention to what you’re thinking, planning, or plotting, and do what you can to get outside opinion and advice–which dovetails perfectly into our third card, the positive influences on the situation as represented by the 5 of Wands. Teamwork. Creative conflict. Differences of opinion. Get advice. Find out what other people think about your situation. The safe and sturdy structure of the 4 of Wands has sort of exploded into the chaos of the 5 of Wands, and as is usual, everybody seems to have an opinion on it. Everybody’s swinging their stick around trying to figure out what to do. So maybe it would be ok to stop, step back, watch, and do nothing? That course of action would be a great step toward taking that negative Queen of Swords and turning her negative energy into a powerful positive. And trust me, she’s an ally you want on your side.
