The Daily Deskhenge:

Hey, guys! Happy Monday! Ok, ok, yeah, I know. Believe me, it’s been a sucky day over here for me too. But if it’s going well for you, then yay! And if not, it’ll be Tuesday soon enough. 😉

That’s actually what’s going on at the top of the reading here: the 8 of Wands jumped out of the deck as I was shuffling so I put it into the spread. It often can indicate speed of movement, so whether you’re having a good day, a bad day, or a day that’s somewhere in between, this card indicates quick passage. It also brings in a vibe of us all being in the same boat; you’re not alone, Mr. or Miss Grumpypants. Things are kind of going to heck in a handbasket all over the place right now, so it might be a good time to put your head down and just go along with it. Please keep all appendages inside the cart until the ride has stopped.

The Page of Swords (on the left) is in the position in the spread of pointing out what’s hidden: we’re all trying to figure it out, so maybe cut other people (and yourself!) some slack. Nobody has all the answers, even those who look like they do. Don’t be afraid to slow things down if you need to. The 10 of Cups (on the right) is in the position in the spread of showing what’s revealed: we’re all kind of emotionally strung out as we head into Autumn and make our straggly way into the holiday season. We’re overwhelmed, we’re emotionally exhausted, and it’s time to dial back the verbiage, tone down the emotional rhetoric, and most of all, unplug from the daily IV of news, opinion and hyper-stimuli and just let the peace and quiet of the autumnal season sink into our bones.

The runes say: talk to your Grandmothers (both your literal grandmothers and all the women of your ancestral lines). They carry great wisdom about how to be quiet in a restful and rejuvenating way while still working, while going through life and your daily routines. The more magical your Grandmothers are, the more they want you to talk to them. Also, change and sacrifice are coming, so get yourself ready. Get into good habits, practice letting go, and start thinking about what sacrifices you/I/we can make as we move forward. How can we make life simpler and less stressful? Keep an especially watchful eye on your money/resources.
