The Daily Deskhenge:
Today’s deskhenge seems weirdly aimed at me, rather than a general reading. So I’m going to just do a quick read of it and hope it rings true for you too.
In Rachel Pollack’s “Shining Tribe Tarot,” the Gift cards (like the “Gift of Trees” on the left) and the Speaker cards (like the Speaker of Birds on the right) represent different stages of being within their particular element (not unlike the Court cards in other tarot decks). The Gifts represent the gift of that particular element, and the Speakers represent everything that’s come before coming together to work as one powerful whole. The Gift of Trees is a blessing of passion and fire, of intuitive wisdom. The card in this particular spread is speaking to what’s going on in the inner world, the emotional truth beneath the surface. So your intuition is not only right, it’s right with the fire of a thousand righteous suns, and it would probably be a good idea for you to trust it. 😉 There’s also a lot of love in this card, so that mixed with passion, while not making this particularly the “Boyfriend” card, speaks well at least for an increase in sex drive. The Speaker of Birds is in the place in the spread that represents what’s going on in the outer world, and this is where I think the Universe is pointing a mighty finger at me (not the middle finger, thank God): I’ve been having kind of a freak-out over the last few days that other people are more psychic than I am, or more gifted, or more special with their special superpower specialness of being able to mind-meld with plants and whatnot. But this card is an indicator that those for whom this card appears need to get over that crap and just own that they embody prophecy. Birds have been representative symbols of the Divine, the Hereafter, Death, the Beyond, and a knowing beyond what’s physically possible to be known, and in this deck it’s no different: the Speaker of Birds embodies all the strengths and gifts of the Mind and the power of thought made real in the world. So I’m being told to stop being a baby and just own that I have my own kind of intuition that suits me, and it’s my job to dance it into joy in the world.
