The Daily Deskhenge:
Today’s Daily Deskhenge is pointing out some stuff I know I don’t want to look at, and it’s making me cranky. Grr, grr, grr. Ok, here we go.
The card on the left, the 10 of Wands/”Suppression,” seems to be about suppressing feelings, but also about doing too much (or trying to do too much, or trying to wrestle too much into submission, or worrying about too much at once). The two runes closest to it are about Self and the Sun, so it’s time to bring those feelings or whatever is going on in that area out into the light. Look at it clearly and with a compassionate but honest eye. What needs to happen next there?
Up in the right-hand corner of the spread we have the Lovers card, the Two/Equals rune, and a red jasper stone that I use to represent the root chakra, but that actually goes really well with the heart on the card there, don’t you think? Lovers, lovers, lovers, pairing off, boyfriends, girlfriends, equals, partners, cohorts, buddies, pals-with-benefits. Yep. So is there something about love or romance or a partner that you’re not expressing? (Yes.) Is there someone you’re not expressing it to? (Yes.) Sigh.
The pile in the middle seems like a jumble of runes in between the snake and the stone–hey, how’s that for a description of a place you absolutely DO NOT want to be, in between a snake and a stone? I guess that would be the proverbial rock and bitey-fangey place, literally. The runes in that sucky place are The Cross (which I read like The Hanged Man, meaning surrender and sacrifice for the higher good), The Heart (love), Stop (the big “X”), and The Viking (the hashtag #, representing fate, the unknown, the wyrd rune). Am I letting myself get all bit up by Mr. Snake for a love that I can never have or that isn’t good for me? Are you not telling someone your true feelings for them? Are you not being rooted and grounded and real with your heart? What sacrifice is being made for love that pretty much needs to stop right now?
