The Daily Deskhenge:

Greetings, friends! Today’s deskhenge is still working with the Tarot, although I’ve decided to give the Marseilles version a rest for now. In the deck that I used today, I’ve cut all the borders off, and it’s amazing–in making the card physically smaller, I’ve actually expanded how it looks! Kooky, totally. But today’s spread is about what’s coming in and what’s going out. The card representing energy coming IN is the Knight of Swords (on the left). Get ready for some big SWOOSH action! Actually, I’m pretty sure that if Nike were going to use the Tarot in their advertising, they’d start with the Knight of Swords. He represents Fire (the Knights are the fiery court cards, representing how things move) of Air (Swords are the suit of Air). So what’s coming in right now is passionate energy around an idea, or a thought. Mount up, men! Gird your loins! Things are about to take off in a big way. What’s going OUT is represented by the 6 of Cups. This is the card most often assoicated with nostalgia, of childhood memories, and of looking back with either fondness or regret. These are difficult things to let go of, for me at least. I tend to get caught up in recollections of yesteryear, or of what might have been, so if you’re like me, you need to be careful around this energy. Let it go, so that room can be made for whatever the Knight of Swords is heralding. Whatever he brings, it’s bound to be exciting. 🙂
