The Daily Deskhenge:

Ok, who’s been snapping towels at other people’s butts in the gym? Who’s been picking on the little guy? Who’s been being mean just for the sake of being mean? Who is being a bully? Today’s cards seem to be all about immaturity and a lack of depth and perception. Relationships (the Lovers, over there on the left) tend to err on the “teenage vampire angst-o-rama” side, rather than the “grown-up joining of forces to achieve a common harmonious good” side. And the Page of Wands (on the right) being all reversed isn’t helping with the maturity level. He brings a shallowness and natural immaturity to the table simply because of his age. It isn’t fair to expect him to be mature and well-grounded because he isn’t experienced enough to know better.

So let’s continue yesterday’s advice of caution: slow down, think things through, and don’t make any rash decisions. Maybe right now (which, by the way, is the beginning of Mercury going retrograde, for those of you who track and consider these things) is not the time to do anything more than strengthen and deepen your current position, and your current relationships. Watch yourself. Ask, “Am I being a bully to someone?” Even if that “someone” is yourself? The TinyBuddha’s advice today ( is to speak honestly to yourself, and to be brutally honest if you have to be. I’m all in favor of that—but I’m not in favor of cruelty. Be honest, but remember that you’re human and you make mistakes. Be brutally honest, but with compassion. How’s that for walking a paradox?
