The Daily Deskhenge:
Wow. Talk about opposites attracting! Find your way between extremes, being magnanimous in your compassion. Rule all by ruling none but yourself.
As usual, I’m using Alistair Crowley’s Thoth Deck for the Tarot, and Doreen Virtue’s Ascended Masters Deck. The Emperor is about as Manly Man as one can possibly get in the Tarot. He’s all about power, and the uses of that power. How do you use your power? Are you a benevolent dictator? Do you withhold your strengths until/unless you’re paid somehow? Do you give your power away? Do you throw your power, your responsibility, at the first grownup who comes into view? As for Avalokitesvara, he challenges you to hold compassion and love for all beings, even the asshole Emperors. All are equal, all are worthy. So how do we put these two together in such a way as makes sense? How do you balance the opposing drives for power and surrender of self? How will you embody what is commanded here: rule all by ruling only the self?
